They Lie Here by N.S Ford- Book review/Blog Tour

I’m pleased to be part of the Write  Reads Tours Blog Tour for They Lie Here by N. S Ford.

Kat Green has made a career out of tracking down reclusive former celebrities. When she moves to the quaint English city of Waelminster, she’s on the trail of enigmatic pop star Roskoe Darke, of the band Scorpio Hearts. He hasn’t been heard of since 1985, but she’s confident she’ll find him. However, as the clues become more bizarre and sinister, Kat has to confront the darkness of her own past. Who can she trust when everyone is hiding the truth?

Review

While N S Ford’s mystery, They Lie Here, has a hint of science-fiction to me, to me the book felt like a warning about fame and obsession.

I received a copy of the book for a free and unbiased opinion.

The story follows Kat Green’s obsession with tracking down a former pop star who disappeared from the limelight as well here own difficulties mistakes, she has made the past. There are other chapters from a child pop star who is part of a pop duo which eventually connects with the main story( although I could figure this out quite early).

I found Kat  as character really interesting- single-minded and morally grey, I found myself herself wanting to succeed in her quest to find Roscoe.

The mystery of Roscoe and his disappearance is different and unexpected but the sci-fi elements are very light.
