About Me

I love reading  especially science fiction and fantasy but will read any book including historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers, and non-fiction except romances. If I’m not reading, I’m usually running slowly, crocheting, or watching fantasy or sci-fi on tv while trying to finish my book.

In 2020, as the pandemic took hold, people were panic buying food and toilet paper but not me- I was in my local bookshop buying books to create my stockplie of books to see me through the lockdown. I picked up books I never noramlly would have read like The Wicher and The six of Crows.

Why create another blog about books?

I was desperate, as the pandemic continued, to find books that were part of a good series or trilogy after devouring the Witcher books which I didn’t expect to like. I love the feeling of finishing a book and knowing that I can pick up the next book and fall back into the same world with the same characters but there was little out there on the web although I have discovered some amazing book blogs along the way. So I thought why not start a blog about books in series, duology, or trilogy- which ones to read, which ones to avoid, which book to stop at when the series loses its way, and which ones to keep reading even though the first book isn’t so good.

I have found the process of trying to create a blog and writing posts for the blog was helpful in reducing my ever increasinging stress levels from my day job more than all the breathing exercises, mindfulness and obessive cake baking put together.

But I still love baking, crocheting badly and running.

I will be reading and reviewing books in series (completed or in progress) but will review standalone books as I read a lot.

I have found after nearly a year of blogging, that I read far too many books that are not part of a series. As a result, my blog has deviated a bit from its original purpose I will also post the occasional non-fiction and thriller/crime book as well.

I am open to submissions. Please see my review policy
