Top Ten Tuesday- Books on my Winter 2021 To read List

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week the theme is the Top Ten Books to read in winter. I’m not sure if I have read all the books on my autumn list but I managed to add more books to the list. But I’m hoping all my wishes for book vouchers for Christmas will come through and I can buy all these lovely books.

Leviathan Falls by James S.A Corey

The final book in the Expanse series (review here) is now on my bedside table, so I might end up finishing the book before this post is up! I can’t wait to see how the amazing science fiction series end. Will humanity survive a dictator and an all-destroying alien entity?

The Bone Shard Emperor by Andrea Stewart

The follow up to the Bone Shard Emperor Daughter (Review here). How will the new emperor cope? I can’t wait to read more about my favourite pirate and his special animal.

 Unnamed Rivers of London book by Ben Aaronovitch

  I love the Rivers of London featuring Peter Grant a policeman training to be a wizard policing the streets of London to catch ‘bent’ magical folk ( sorry a completely wrong Line of Duty reference). Funny and Inventive- I’m saving my book vouchers for this one.

The Hour Glass Throne by K.D Edwards

The third book in the Tarot card series (review here)is definitely on my list. These books are touching, funny with dark themes featuring magical Atlanteans now living in the US. A perfect urban fantasy

The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah

I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but I do and this cover looks great. But so does the blurb, so it joins my list.

 House of Niccolo series by Dorothy Dunnett

 I’m going to reread the entire series next year, maybe I will enjoy this more the second time around.

The Dying Squad by Adam Simcox

 I like the idea of a special police force investigating their own murder- this looks like a fun read (I hope).

 Violet made of Thorns by Gina Chen

Another book I have judged by its cover, but what a cover it is!  But it has epic fantasy, strong women and political intrigue- just a few of my favourite things.

The Hanging at the Hollow Tree by Sarah M Stephen

I enjoyed the time-travelling, mystery  Dead at False Creek (review here) set in Canada and I am keeping an eye for this book when it is out.

Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson

I did wish for this on  NetGalley but even if my wish isn’t granted I have to read this book with a title that completely sells the story.

I am going to hold myself to account next year and read all the books on my autumn and winter list before the summer and make sure I review them on my little blog.

Any of these on your list?

I think I need a few historical fiction titles to balance this out and any ideas welcome
