I’m pleased to be part of the blog tour for She Had It Coming by Carys Jones- a twisty mystery.

‘Someone needs to bring her down a peg or two…
When Pippa’s best friend goes missing on a school run, no one thinks twice. Heather is pretty, popular and more than a little wild.
Most people think she ran away for the attention… Others say girls like her always get what’s coming to them.
Pippa’s mother, Abbie, has never liked Heather. Or her mother Michelle, a successful doctor who thinks she’s too good for the school mums’ group.
But when Heather turns up dead, everything changes. Because Pippa was the last person to see her alive… and now Abbie’s own house of cards is about to come tumbling down.
Review
I really enjoyed this twisty murder mystery- She Had It Coming by Carys Jones was an intriguing book with two interesting narrators.
I received a copy of the book for a free and unbiased opinion
The book is set in 2003 ( I have to confess to being a little taken aback when I realised 2003 was twenty years ago) and the author succeeds in making this feel like a different time.
The mystery at the heart of the book is the disappearance and eventual murder of 16-year-old Heather- a popular, wild, clever girl whose mother, Michelle, is the local GP. Michelle, too, is a source of gossip as a working mum among the group of mothers Abbie hangs out with.
But this book isn’t just a whodunit. This is a book about mothers and daughters as well as the unrealistic expectations placed on women sometimes by the women themselves. Is Michelle a bad mother for having a job? Is Abbie a bad wife
This was a quick and easy read- I finished this in one sitting which was just as well as I wanted to find out what happens at the end.
I haven’t come across Carys Jones’s books before but I will definitely be reading her backlist.
