It’s another Tuesday and another Top Ten- this time it’s my top ten bookish ( and blog) goals
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This time the topic my top ten bookish goals but I am going to add some of blog goals as well as they are related ( somehow).

Beat the backlog. Again
I tried to do this last and was doing so well until life and work got in the way. So I am going to again in 2023 and read those eBooks vegetating on my kindle,
DNF more books and not feel guilty
I rarely give up on a book even when it feels like torture reading it just in case in turns amazing which did happen once before with The Game of Kings (review here) and when I do I feel so guilty. But life is too short to read books that don’t click with me and there are so many books too read.

Finish my second reread of The House of Niccolo series
Dorothy Dunnett is an amazing writer and The Lymond Chronicles( review here) were better on the second or third reread so I really need to reread her other series this year.
Read all the books in all the series I have already started
I seem to have picked up a few books mid-series or missed the fact more books have been published so I am going to make more of an effort to finish them
Read more non-fiction
There are some non-fiction books that are weirder than fiction and I really need to read more of these books
Read at least one romance book in 2023
I seem to have gone off the whole romance genre to the extent that I skip past any hint of romance in any book I read. Maybe a good romance novel will get me past the hump.
Not read a book because of the hype
I have been disappointed by so many books last year that didn’t live up to the hype and in 2023 I’m going to resist!
Figure out what SEOs are
I keep reading about SEOs and how great they are to drive blog traffic but I have to admit that trying to learn how to use SEOs will take me away from my books.
Make my blog a little more exciting
I’ve left the hardest one till the end- I have no idea how to do this
Thank you for visiting and leave a link to your TTT
I love these goals. Good luck with rereading House of Niccolo. I always preferred that one to the Lymond books for some reason. I have no idea what SEOs are so I hope you share this when you find out 😃😃

SEOs seem so arbitrary. They are important to drive traffic to our site, but I have no idea how they work either. LOL!

If it helps, I don’t really do much SEO optimisation either! I also want to try and finish more of my unfinished series in 2023.

This is a great list, and I have a bunch of these in common with you. Especially continuing to read when I’m not enjoying a book – why is it so hard to DNF a book without feeling guilty??

I just feel so bad for the author even though they don’t actually know when I don’t DNF a book!

😂 just think of the fact that there’s going to always be a bunch of people who love the book!

As far as I can tell, the best thing I’ve done for SEO is have helpful category names and some standardised tags, and cross-link between my posts (going from wrap posts to reviews, linking back from Top Ten Tuesdays and so on). That said, far from monster traffic over at There’s Always Room For One More so I’m no expert 😀
Good luck with the goals – I’ve been DNFing a lot recently, so my most immediate goal is to settle down and finish a book before I forget how (I have 3 on the go now, which weirdly seems to be helping stick with each of them).

Great goals! I feel guilty about DNFing books. I have to admit that I have only done that to one book and that was made up of lots of short stories so I finished the story I was on and left the rest.
Have a great week!
